Beyond the falls and the granite walls. The flowers and the fungus. The trail rises steeply through patchy snow, and I fall through into deep secret snow caves, one leg at a time, praying for my ankles, knees.
One night last week we sat facing each other with tangled legs in our favourite two-person boat - the love seat - and listened to John Lennon in the dark. When did he die? December 8, 1980. How long does it take for a soul to find a new body? How long until a baby acquires a soul? Before birth? At three months of age? Maybe you are now John Lennon.
Orchids, violets and morels... life is so lush... I'm humbled by your gifts.
