Food Cost Redux
As a matter of interest, Dietitions of Canada just published a report on the cost of food in BC.
Following through the calculations on page 8, the cost of food to feed a couple in their 30's is $494.55. My assumption-laden calcs worked out to $530. I was off by seven percent.
Therefore, if we are eating a non-processed diet at a cost of $400 to $450 per month, then we're not doing so badly after all. This month was average - $437 despite eating a few fairly luxurious items including fresh mozza, fresh basil, local chorizo sausage, cashews, and ice cream.
Timely report, eh?
